Fox Sports columnist Jason Whitlock sent a tweet heard round the world that might cost him his job, or at least place it in jeopardy.
Jason Whitlock tweeted, “Some lucky lady in NYC is gonna feel a couple inches of pain tonight” on Friday night soon after Jeremy Lin scored 38 points and helping the York Knicks beat the Los Angeles Lakers at the Garden.
The tweet spiraled out of control as more and more people were offended by Whitlocks obvious attempt at humor. The Asian American Journalists Association demanded an apology as well, saying that the “attempt at humor . . . fell flat” and that the “offensive tweet debased one of sports’ feel-good moments, not just among Asian Americans but for so many others who are part of your audience.”
