China has put their military bombers and other aircraft personnel on high alert following a warning from North Korea that they would be conducting a nuclear test on April 20th. The precaution comes after missile tests and other provocation from North Korea against US and South Korea who have been ramping up military exercises together making the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un agitated. China’s upgrade to high alert comes in order to reduce the time to react to a situation in North Korea that could include an armed conflict. This is also after a recent media report out of Pyongyang where North Korean state run newspaper put out the following:
“Our pre-emptive strike against the US and it’s allies will be the most merciless strike, aiming for a complete destruction that doesn’t allow for the survival of the enemies”. The statement continues that the US and South Korea, “will be completely destroyed in an instant. Only ashes will be left.”

The US under the Trump administration has shown a reckless abandon to drop bombs without flinching and with all the strong word being throws back and forth between the US and North Korea, China does not want to see this lead to the military solution so they may use the fact that they provide up to 85% of the economic trade with North Korea making their leverage huge against Kim Jong Un and North Korea. That’s a lot of economic weight they can throw around.
