Will a Donald Trump presidency really be THAT bad? Let’s be candid, if Hillary had won, we would have had four more years of an obstructionist congress to a level even beyond what we’ve seen for the past 6 years against Obama. So even though we made steady gains the past eight years under Obama, policies have stalled in the House or Senate while Republicans try to play out the clock. Plus, with a President Hillary it would have been four years of countless investigations into her emails and that’ll snowball into an investigation into her Twitter account to maybe expose that *SHOCKING* Hillary may not tweet her own tweets *SHOCKING*

So Republicans have President Trump, the Senate, and the House of Representatives on their side and that means we will actually get policies passed. The problem with Democrats is that they will most likely not agree with these policies. I say we need to give Trump a chance to lead and see what he does before we start running for the border (The Northern One). Let’s see the policies that are suggested before we demonize them. I am one that believes we need policies to actually go through congress to effect some change in the country or our economy will continue to be stagnant. Whether the change leads to good or bad, the policies need to actually pass to see their results. Republicans and Democrats each will always believe their policies are better than the other but if we only talk about it endlessly with nothing actually passing then our country will be left waving in the wind. I fear some of the policies that may come through but at the end of the day, roughly half the country may believe in them so let’s give some of these policies a chance.

The Supreme Court is really the biggest concern at this point. Trump will get his conservative nominee to get the court back to a right leaning 5-4 but with two left appointed Bill Clinton justices nearing retirement, Ruth Bader Ginsburg at 83 and Stephen Breyer at 78, this will be a scary four years for the left. Our Supreme Court should never be heavily lopsided to one side whether that be left or right. The court should be made up fairly even to our electorate. Could you imagine a scenario where one side had the Supreme Court in their favor 6-3 or even 7-2? This is what my number one fear is with the Trump regime.

With that said, we still need to speak our minds and bring a spotlight to the issues being raised for the next four years. This means protests will continue taking place making people on the right uncomfortable, but that’s what free speech is about. One thing we need to do is keep things peaceful. Expect to see four years of protests while Democrats find the next voice to rally around for 2020. All in all, a Trump presidency won’t be THAT bad.
