WWE’s Wrestlemania 30 Preview and Predictions

Wrestlemania 30 is coming to us live from New Orleans and we have a final card all locked up. I’m going to run down the matches and give my predictions. This is going to be the WWE’s first major streaming PPV over their new WWE Network, so you can count on all the troll’s to come out bashing the WWE at the first blip of a freeze. We know how the “internet people” are. I will be watching it through a WWE Network live stream and I’m making sure to not wear white pants cause I am going to be nervous. There will be a lot of people leeching on that stream and the WWE already had some issues with their first soft stream of their NXT Arrival Pay Per View last month. Let’s get into it.

WWE Tag Team Title Match: The Real Americans Vs Ryback and Curtis Axel Vs The Matadores Vs The Usos (Champions)

Originally, this match was going to take place on the main card. I’m sure they ran into time restraints with the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and decided to move this over to the pre-show. The Real Americans will be the team to watch in this match. I believe they will have some huge blow up that leads to the end of their tag team and the only way they could win this would be to incorporate the tag belts into the break up. The Real Americans were already on the road to split when the angle was stopped and they learned to work together. In my opinion, this will be something that probably ends up happening either at the end of this match or at the Post Wrestlemania WWE Raw. Having the tag belts would further this longer than it needs to be and with Cesaro poised for a huge push after the break up, the WWE may want to make sure the angle receives a proper reception, and we all know how vocal the Post Mania Raw is. The team of Ryback and Axel is really just buying time until WWE figures out what to do with them individually. I still see them as just two guys they threw together. They are no threat to win this match. The Matadores are here simply for El Torito to somehow get involved. The Usos won the titles a month ago on WWE Raw in Chicago. The Usos come to the ring doing a Samoan war dance and seeing that it is Wrestlemania, I hope they have add an interesting twist. There is no big story for them here or moving forward so I don’t see them losing. They haven’t had the title long enough to get a huge rub and losing it on their first defense in the pre-show would be a lackluster move.

Prediction: The Usos win and Swagger gets pinned.

BryanVsHHH

Daniel Bryan Vs Triple H: Winner is added to the Batista/Orton WWE World Heavyweight Title Match

Let’s talk about the unthinkable. Would Triple H book Daniel Bryan to lose this match? The conspiracy theorists claim Triple H has too much of an ego to allow Daniel Bryan to get over on him. Those are probably the same guys that honestly thinks the WWE does not believe in Daniel Bryan. Let’s get this straight. If the WWE didn’t want Daniel Bryan to get cheered he would not be on TV or he’d be facing 3MB or some other crap talent. The WWE knows exactly what kind of potential they have in Daniel Bryan. The WWE has been slowly cooking this story waiting for the right moment to pop the top off. Very slowly. Like as slow as watching molasses grow, or whatever molasses does. Seriously though, there is no question who wins this match, the only question is how? Does Triple H get pinned? Does Triple H get himself disqualified? Counted out? I feel that Triple H will attack Bryan after the bell.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins and goes on to the main event.

30 Man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

This is one of the less predictable matches taking place at Wrestlemania. You have 30 guys, three of which are still a mystery, in an over the top battle royal for a trophy. In reality there are only a handful of legitimate possible winners but none of them stand out to me. I’ll go through a few of the popular names. Big Show: He’s our generations giant and his career began tied to Andre. It would be a feel good moment to see him win and have his time to shine but storyline wise it doesn’t help him. Big Show doesn’t need to win so what’s the point? Dolph Ziggler: He’s had a pretty nasty fall from grace with his concussions and big mouth since last year but he remains a fan favorite among those “Internet people” I spoke about earlier. Ok, I’m a Zigglite too. Love seeing him work in the ring. I can see him having a Shawn Michaels-esque hanging from the ropes on the edge of elimination spot here. Big E: He’s a great future star for the company but I don’t see him winning this. He has a possible feud with Del Rio set up Post-Mania. Sheamus: I can see Sheamus winning but I hope not. He doesn’t need a trophy to be over or get a title shot. He’s a contender as it is. Plus I wold think the winner carries the trophy and it just doesn’t suit his character. The Miz: Back when Miz headlined Wrestlemania 27, I really enjoyed what he was doing. Great mic work and good in the ring. He had a style about him. Then, I don’t know. I really don’t know what happened with this guy. He just fell off with his mic work. I say it really got bad when he turned face. Boring promos with no intensity. Hope he can get back to that “You can hate me now” Miz. Other: What leaves me mostly scratching my head is the three open spots. Three mystery guys that can change the whole balance of this battle royal. It’s also odd with the format of battle royals having all 30 guys start in the ring it kind of socks the air out of the mystery guys. I know one spot for sure will go to an old timer. Maybe Jake the Snake gets in. I would love to see someone like Matt Morgan explode on the scene and win the trophy. The WWE would never do that though. Morgan was not their creation. Just a thought. A random happy thought in a world that didn’t have the WWE be so ruthless. At the end I see one of the mystery spots being for Alexander Rusev and I see him standing on the pedestal with the trophy on Post Mania Raw

Prediction: Alexander Rusev as one of the mystery entrants.

ShieldVsCorporate

The Shield Vs Corporate Kane and the New Age (Corporate) Outlaws

Ahhh, Corporate Kane. It was a great idea at first. I figured it would be a great way for Jacobs to have a totally different character to play. It’s been a failure. It’s boring and has no nuances. Plus he has the same damn music. Wtf, WWE? Shield has been on a tear recently with the recent semi-face turn. Rollins has been the stand out with his mic work and mostly in the ring. This was another team that was on the verge of a breakup storyline. Reigns was positioned to become a monster face with the plush the WWE has given him in the past six months. They stopped the breakup cold and decided they would milk the Shield for longer as a unit. Eventually, Rollins and Ambrose will from their own unit while Roman goes on to possible main event angles. For now, Shield is bonkers over with the crowd so they’ll win this with some great moves.

Prediction: The Shield wins, Roman spears Billy for the win.

20140324_diva_matchpreview_light_hp   Divas Invitational: AJ Lee (Champion) Vs The World So somebody decided that the Divas title should be defended for the first time ever at Wrestlemania 30. Whoever had the idea of this match should be fired. I don’t understand how you can have a regular one fall match with 14 people. How could anybody get pinned without another person breaking the pin up? How was this even proposed?   WWE Creative: “Hey Vincent how about we throw all our girls in the ring and…” Vince: “Stop right there. It’s gold.”   It’s like they didn’t even bother thinking of the rules.  I’d be surprised if it actually was a one fall match cause it just doesn’t make any sense to me. This will turn into an all out girl brawl at some point. I hope AJ found a way to win, but seeing as she is now engaged to CM Punk and has already become the longest reigning Divas champion they might want to take the belt off her. Who knows though. Maybe they’ll surprise us and give us an AJ win. I don’t see it though. I think Nikki Bella wins.

Prediction: Nikki wins….Idk how. She just does.

CenaVsBray

John Cena vs Bray Watt

Holy sh*t, Bray Wyatt does great promos. A part of that is because he writes his own, with the WWE writers just editing it. So Bray IS this character.  I knew I would like Wyatt, but I didn’t know he’d be this good.  Do yourselves a favor and YouTube some Wyatt promos if you haven’t seen them. I predict Bray is facing Undertaker next year at Mania. The truth is John Cena is really not fighting for anything here. Just another match for Cenas legacyy. Dude, has had 30 “legacy in the balance” matches. This Wrestlemania card is going to have a lot of face wins, so I don’t see Cena winning this. Bray needs to be able to say he, “Destroyed your hero at the showcase of the immortals.” It makes more sense for Bray to win this, most likely with some interference from the Wyatts. Besides this is their first match and everyone knows John gets a do over on all failed legacy matches.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt wins with interference and Sister Abigail.

TakerVsBrock

Undertaker Vs Brock Lesnar: Undertaker’s Wrestlemania Streak On The Line

Brock Lesnar is awesome. The guy is a beast to look at and a good, if also violent, in ring worker.  Lesnar and Taker will have a fun match that may come down to a more MMA style with submission holds sprinkled with punches and clotheslines. Only thing that cannot be accounted for is if Brock legitimately hurts Taker accidentally. He’s known to work stiff. I think the match will be fun and Taker moves on to face Sting at Mania in 2015. Will Sting appear at Mania or Raw to challenge Undertaker? Hmmmm.

Prediction: Undertaker wins with the Kimora.

BatistaOrtonMystery

Batista Vs Daniel Bryan/Triple H Vs Randy Orton (Champion): WWE World Heavyweight Championship

I predicted Daniel Bryan would win his earlier match with Triple H to go on to be in the main event. A scenario I thought of is that somehow Triple H and Bryan fight to a draw inserting both into this main event. Maybe even leading to some kind of controversial double pin. Even in this scenario I believe Bryan would initially be declared the winner to end Wrestlemania with the sight of the entire crown pointing to the sky chanting “Yes”. Orton still walks around with both titles. Why? Why not make one title representing the championship? It doesn’t make sense unless WWE is planning to split them up again. Batista came back to main event Wrestlemania and I’d like to see a Bryan Vs Batista feud post Mania. Hell, there can even be a CM Punk sighting helping Bryan as he’s rumored to be back. So many possible scenarios that can end the show but the one thing I am sure of is that the WWE wants the show ending on a positive exciting note. Especially seeing this is the WWE Network’s first big showing.

Predictions: Daniel Bryan with the arena chanting Yes and closing Wrestlemania
